Participants will be introduced to the recent origins of Ireland’s soils and the fundamental relationship between geological and biological diversity. Yew trees will be planted during the tour.

A bus will depart Bruach na Carraige and tour Sliabh Luachra, introducing people to the trail newly developed. The bus tour will finish at Rockchapel with a session and refreshments. Folklore Music Dance Storytelling PoetryThe Sliabh Luachra Cultural Trail winds 130 km through the borderlands of North West Co. Cork and East Co. Kerry, encompassing a traditional cultural landscape which has given rise to many of Irelands’ finest musicians’ and poets. Macroom Town Hall will host a performance by SoundOut, a jazz trio comprising of saxophone, bass and drums. The group have composed and arranged music that loosely includes element of Jazz, Latin and Middle Eastern forms.
